Who Says it's a Hard Knock Life?
Jay-Z, the king of Hip-Hop, celebrated his 3rd number 1 album in a row by turning a Northridge, California skating rink into a roller "club" where the 200 or so guests were given a pair or skates and juiced up by a bar stocked with Stolichnaya Vodka and Red Bull, Coronado Tequila and Bombay gins. The whole Roc-A-Fella familia came out for the festivities, which had celebs, BIJOU PHILLIPS, MICHAEL RAPPAPORT, SOLEIL MOONFRYE film director F. GARY GRAY and plenty of Jigga man's booty-girls bouncing and rocking to tunes spun by famous NYC DJ Mark Ronson. The DJ kept the gig funky with OUTKAST's hit, "I'm Sorry Miss Jackson" and even took the party back with the old school DOUG E. FRESH jam, "Loddie Doddie". As if the energy could not be turned up any more, the Jigga Man performed the smash hit, "Big Pimpin'" and current street hit, "I Just Wanna Love U" and did a medley of familiar fan anthems, "Jigga Who, Jigga What?" and "What's My Name" among others.
The Jigga man of the double O's, who's taking off where Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. left in the 90's will continue doing big thangs. He's talking to R. KELLY, a featured artist on Jay-Z's current CD, "The Dynasty Roc La Familia," about doing a real nasty, sexy tour to start off 2001. That's in addition to his clothing line, Rocawear, and some film projects in the works. |
