| SOUL TRAIN AWARDS On Saturday March 4 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California SOUL TRAIN presented the 14th ANNUAL SOUL TRAIN AWARDS with special honors going to MARY J. BLIGE as female artist on the year and DMX as male artist of the year. MARY brought her mother up on the stage to accept the award with her. In an attempt to "keep it real" and stay true to her roots MARY thanked the prisoners who send her letters to tell her how much she inspires them. It took SOUL TRAIN to finally give DMX his props because he's been making platinum hits all year long with little recognition. Basketball and soon to be rap star, KOBE BRYANT, was on hand to present an award and promote his new album, VISIONS, due out in August after the LAKERS win the championship. Who knows, maybe next year KOBE will be accepting a SOUL TRAIN AWARD for best new artist. The show had plenty of eye candy for whatever your tastes crave. SHEMAR MOORE, the host of the weekly show, filled the screen with his bulging, shapely chest and songstress, TAMIA, showed all of the men what DETROIT PISTON's GRANT HILL enjoys. It was a fun night of appreciation of Black people by Black people. |
