FAITH HILL

"As a parent I’m concerned for our youth, but determined to make it better for them. While it’s easy to feel helpless and fearful, we all need to do our part in making their world a better place. We need to allow those emotions to turn into optimism, bravery and defiance so that their future is as bright as it can be. I believe most important of all is the commitment that we owe to them, never forget.
The events that took place on September 11th will forever change our lives and the lives of future generations. As parents, sons, daughters and most important of all, Americans, we all feel a deep sense of loss, fear and sadness. We must never forget the feelings that we have today because they are what will give us the strength for a brighter tomarrow.
In the center of this devastation and this evil are the bright spirits of bravery, kindness, and hope that we have to build on. Those firefighters, policemen, the people who combed the streets looking for their loved ones, all the people whose lives were directly effected by this tragedy have shown me, and I believe people everywhere, the true essence of the human spirit"
Cindy Crawford

"Having just had a beautiful baby girl I was filled with so many conflicting emotions. Joy at becoming a mother again and deep sorrow for the tragic loss of so many lives. I'm not sure either reality has set in.

I am filled with overwhelming admiration for the heroism and bravery displayed by so many. My prayers are for the fallen, for their loved ones and for the healing of the planet."

Cindy Crawford
"I jus t wanted to say that, like everyone here, I’ve been humbled by the courage and bravery we’ve seen in the last ten days. It’s been such a difficult time for all of us in our country…but I’ve also been inspired by all the incredible acts of heroism we’ve seen – and the spirit of volunteerism and patriotism that’s pulled our country together. I just wanted to say that is stand here today, so proud to be an American."
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

BARBRA STREISAND

"the United States…indeed, our world…will never be the same. Thousands of lives were lost…and millions of lives were changed on that tragic morning. The magnitude of such devastation is incomprehensible.
And yet, in the days after, we have witnessed many acts of heroism –men and women risking their lives to come to the aid of others. We have seen their faces on television—people of all colors…all faiths…all nationalities—the faces that make up American.
When I listen to the anguished yet compassionate voices of these proud and resilient citizens on the evening news, my belief in the diversity that makes our country great is reaffirmed. (Their New York accents never sounded so beautiful)
We have seen that when we set aside our differences for the greater good, we can prevail against any negative force in this world. This indomitable American spirit has always carried us through the darkest of days and strengthens our determination to create a brighter tomarrow.
For all who perished…and all those who grieve for them—my thoughts and prayers are with you"

Lyrics from new song closer
"So on this silent night
I call your name and suddenly
All time and space between us disappear
I see your face in firelight
I hold you close in memory
And even though I know you’re gone
I know you’re here

MELISSA ETHERIDGE

"There will be a response and our nation will be different. Overnight we were changed into a country where we are forced to look at our level of hate and tolerance, something that we have been waving a flag about for sometime now and here it is tragically in our own backyard now. There will be war. There will be huge change, but I can’t help believe that this dark of an evil cannot exist without there being a force just as great and positive of light coming from out there as well. I truly believe that. It was proved in the horror and hatefulness of these acts that people could board planes and do something like this. That horribleness was met with countless, countless stories of heroism and love for strangers. There was not running and trampling in the streets and disregard for human life. There are countless stories of good that met that evil head on."

TIGER WOODS

"Due to the tragic events over the past few days I have decided not to compete in next week's Trophee Lancome in Saint-Nom-la-Breteche GC, Paris, France. I don't believe this is an appropriate time to play competitive golf. I feel strongly that this is a time to pause, reflect and remember the victims of Tuesday's horrific attack. I have always felt that I must be fully committed to each and every golf competition I enter, but due to this week's events, I am not. I also fear that the security risks of traveling overseas at the present time are too great. I would like to thank Trophee Lancome for their understanding and cooperation in this difficult situation.
"I think we need to come together as a nation, and I think we're doing that,'' he said. "It's unfortunate that it took a situation like this to bring people together. Our national pride is starting to come out.'
