The 47th Annual Grammy Awards Show is coming Sunday February 13th, to close a weeklong cadre of Grammy events, including the Musicares Person of the Year Friday February 11th at the Hollywood Palladium Theater. This years list of nominees was dominated by hip hop music and artists, with newcomer KANYE WEST getting 11 nominations to lead all comers. USHER and ALICIA KEYS were next in line with 8 nominations each. The late RAY CHARLES landed 7, with PRINCE getting 5 nominations.Good old fashioned rock music is not dead, however, with GREEN DAY leading the pack with 6 nominat ions for their release, AMERICAN IDIOT. Newcomers FRANZ FERDINAND and THE KILLERS, as well as hard working MODEST MOUSE also had multiple nominations.The nominations were announced on December 7th, with the help of readers JOSS STONE, KANYE WEST, THE BLACK EYED PEAS and HOOBESTANK. The nominations included the first ever nod for BEST ELECTRONIC/DANCE ALBUM:
