CHRISTINA AQUILERA, 4-time Grammy winner who has sold more than 25 million records, will make her film debut in BURLESQUE.  The picture is set to begin principal photography later this year.

AGUILERA, who said at the Grammy’s 2 years ago she was considering scripts, chose a story about a small town girl who claws her way to fame and fortune, and some romance along the way, in a cabaret/strip club somewhere in Los Angeles.  The project will be the first feature film for the singer, who has previously done voiceover work, and performance songs in films.  Her voice was in SHARK TALE and MULAN, and she has appeared as a performer in numerous films, like THE SPIRIT, GET SMART, DIRTY DANCING: HAVANA NIGHTS, and MOULAN ROUGE.

CHRISTINA has appeared in a host of television series, and was in 2 episodes of THE BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL.

She got her start as a Disney discovery, auditioning at the age of 12 for MICKEY MOUSE CLUB, where she landed for several years.

In 1989 she busted onto the music scene with “Genie in a Bottle”, and the rest is history.

BURLESQUE is a musical, in the vein of CABARET, with a juicy lead character, written just for CHRISTINA by PUSSYCAT DOLLS producer, STEVE ANTIN. Sounds like a winner.
