But all was not well at the California offices of Miss California, USA where KEITH LEWIS, executive director of MISS CALIFORNIA, USA, and SHANNA MOAKLER, director of the MISS CALIFORNIA, USA pageant were steaming mad at CARRIE PREJEAN. In their own press conference held the day before on May 11, 2009, LEWIS and MOAKLER laid into PREJEAN for her alleged breach of contractual duties and announced the appointment of MISS CALIFORNIA, USA runner-up, TAMI FERRELL to the role of Beauty of California Ambassador, and apparent coup of the then reigning Miss California, CARRIE PREJEAN.

After "The DONALD'S" surprise press conference announcing the retention of the tile with PREJEAN, MOAKLER resigned her post with MISS CALIFORNIA.

But apparently LEWIS and MOAKLER won the day with TRUMP, albeit a month later, as PREJEAN was fired last Wednesday for failing to live up to her committments with MISS CALIFORNIA, USA. "This was a decision based soley on contract violations," KEITH LEWIS said in a relaesed statement.

But PREJEAN, in interviews after the firing stands by her position that she was fired for her now infamous answer to the question on gay marriage, "I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman... No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Posing topless for soft porn pictures, accepting a spokesperson position with an ultra-right conservative group, and chumming up to FOX NEWS NETWORK while putting your MISS CALIFORNIA duties on hold had nothing to do with it.
